Monday 31 October 2016 saw The Countess of Verulam, Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant for Hertfordshire hold the second of the 2016 British Empire Medal (BEM) Investitures at her Council Chambers.

The BEM is awarded in the current day for meritorious Civil service that is worthy of recognition by the crown. It once included Military service but was reviewed by the British Honours System and that ceased in 2012.

Cadet Warrant Officer Glanville of 936 (Hertford and Ware) Squadron, is the Lord-Lieutenant’s Air Cadet for Hertfordshire and as such, was invited to attend on Official Duties accompanying the Lord-Lieutenant alongside her Army Cadet Force Conterpart.
